Chart showing Teams growth beating Slack

Teams is on the up

With the introduction of Microsoft Teams into workspaces, customers have had their workplace collaboration transformed, business processes streamlined and critical information protected.  Its economic impact has been shown from a recent Forrester study, and now a report has been published showing just how much Teams is being used.  The report by market research firm ETR shows that Teams is in fact surpassing Slack in daily use.

The report states that “Slack’s market share among the world’s largest companies is mostly flat, adoption rates are declining, and a bigger portion of these companies indicate they plan on leaving the service”.

On the other hand, Teams is experiencing an increased market share, higher adoption rates and low rates of defection.  The collaboration tool has reached a whopping 13 million daily active users and 19 million weekly users.

The success of Teams has been associated to its bundling within the Office 365 package, and its integration with other Office apps and services.  With availability in 53 languages, Teams is powering teamwork for big customers such as Emirates, FedEx and The Adecco Group.

It’s no surprise that along with the integration with Office 365, the costs associated with the use of Teams instead of Slack played another key role when it came to choosing a preferred collaboration tool.
