You don't need to be a techie to thrive with Microsoft

With the rise of technology-driven workplaces, many employees are feeling the pressure to amp up their technology skillsets in order to keep up with others and the industries around them.  Some business tasks can be daunting to those who haven’t had much experience with technology and software programs. However, with Microsoft programs such as PowerApps, Power BI and Flow, Microsoft is making it easier for everyday employees to solve complex business problems.  Here’s a few examples of how anyone can develop their technological capacity in just a few simple steps with easy-to-use Microsoft programs.

PowerApps

PowerApps has shown us all that you don’t need to be anything close to an app developer to build your own app.  The platform is designed to make app development as easy as a few quick steps, within a few minutes, to get your first app up and running.  Users can import their already organised spreadsheets in Excel to build an app, or build their app from scratch using pre-built templates.  You’d be surprised how easy it is.  Check out our quick beginner’s guide here.

Power BI

Picture this:  your boss has asked you to show them the latest key data from the project your team has been working on.  Accessing and displaying data is not everyone’s strong point, especially when the data you’re working with is in several different locations such as Salesforce, Google Analytics or Quickbooks.  Power BI makes it easy for users to consolidate, explore and interpret their data, and then incorporate that data into digestible, compelling presentations to show-off to colleagues (who might also not be tech savvy!). Power BI will even pick the best visualisation method for your data. It helps you display what you need to so you can focus more on the bigger picture.

Flow

With a diverse array of pre-made templates in Microsoft Flow, employees can easily setup automated workflows to skip time-consuming business tasks that can become difficult to manually manage.  Workflows can be created for anything from approval processes, alerts for digital document sign-offs, user onboarding, offboarding and more.  Within as little as three to four steps, anyone can set up a Flow, take weight off their daily workload and more efficiently run their business.  Check out our blog about more ways you can use Microsoft Flow here
